The Cabinet Office & HM Treasury (COHMT) Commercial team has the vision to be a top-performing commercial function in government, setting best practices for others to follow. The team partners with all business areas, providing a commercial service that covers planning, commercial strategy, sourcing and contract management on circa £1bn of third-party spend.

The COHMT commercial team has recently changed its operating model. It is now organised into spend category teams, supplemented by business partners and embedded commercial teams in specialist areas and programmes. The Directorate is supported by a central team, Commercial Strategy and Performance, which is responsible for the overall strategy, performance, and enabling functions and this role forms part of that team.
We are looking for a Commercial Performance and Systems Lead to join our team, who will play a critical role in developing and delivering our commercial performance and systems to enable our commercial team to leverage data to drive commercial performance. This will include using a wide range of existing programmes, including Excel and Atamis, as well as bringing systems and data expertise to deliver our improvement roadmap and transform our utilisation of data and systems to deliver a better commercial service to our customers. This role requires an individual who is able to balance multiple priorities and improvement projects alongside assurance of BAU operational stability, reporting and ad-hoc projects as they emerge. This role will have line management responsibility for a Senior Data Analyst and Systems Manager.
This role will be responsible for ensuring commercial systems, data, and insights are used to drive performance improvement and support effective commercial strategies and decision-making.
The role will also lead on specific centres of excellence projects defined by the Head of Strategy & Performance. These could cover contract management, governance, and category management.
In this role, you will be required to act on your own initiative, lead and drive projects and services, and engage and influence key stakeholders within your areas of responsibility.
You will be expected to maintain solid relationships and provide advice and guidance on commercial best practice across the Commercial Directorate and wider department.
